High in flexural strength, these posts are also designed with a tapered form to closely mimic the natural tooth structure.  As a result, fracture risk is minimized. Additionally, LuxaPost is pre-silanized and radiopaque

Fibreglass-reinforced , conical composite post, x-ray opaque and pre salinized.

COMPOSITION:

Glass fibers in a Bis-GMA based resin matrix (LuxaPost). Rustproof, hardening steel (LuxaPost drill)

INDICATIONS:

  • Following endodontic treatment in order to establish reliable retention of the core build up where insufficient coronal tooth structure exists.
  • Only for use with dual or self curing luting cements.
    • Only one drill per size (no pre-shaping drill necessary)
    • User-friendly, color-coded system
    • Retention grooves improve mechanical retention
    • Transparent for highly esthetic results
    • High flexural strength: Good stability
    • Post taper conforms easily to the post preparation
    • Ultrasonic disinfection

The use of ultrasound reduces the disinfection time to 15 minutes. The LuxaPost drill bits must not come into contact with hard objects during this process. Cleaning in a thermal disinfector is not possible.

      Checking/secondary cleaning

After disinfection, check LuxaPost drills for contamination. If necessary, carry out secondary cleaning using an ultrasonic cleaner. If necessary, carry out secondary cleaning manually using a soft brush

Check the functionality. LuxaPost drills that have oxidized, become blunt or exhibit irregular running must be separated and no longer used.

      Sterilization

Autoclave (if possible use pre and post-vacuum types) at 121 °C or 134 °C. Avoid sterilization temperatures above180 °C. Exceeding this can lead to the drill losing hardness.

      Instructions for use

In order to improve the fracture resistance of core build-up and restoration, ensure that a minimum 2 mm of tooth structure remains above the gum after preparation, in order that this can be covered by the crown itself.

In order to ensure the enhanced transfer of axial forces, ensure that the minimum wall thickness of the dentin is 1 mm.

When preparing the root canal always use a LuxaPost drill of the appropriate size. This guarantees an adequate cement gap. ? Use LuxaPost drills no more than 10 times.

Sterilize LuxaPost drills after every use

Light-curing units should have an output of 450 nm and should be checked regularly. The light intensity should be a minimum of 400 mW/cm2 . Place the light as close as possible to the material.

Observe the respective manufacturer’s instructions when using any other materials. In order to generate an homogenous monoblock, for the cementing and core build-up DMG recommends using the dual-curing LuxaCore Z, or LuxaCore in combination with the dual-curing adhesive system LuxaBondTotal Etch. DMG recommends the use of a rubber dam. Prior to every use

LuxaPost drills are not sterile upon delivery. Disinfect LuxaPost drills in a disinfecting bath. Use a disinfection bath with a screen insert. Only use special combination disinfectants and cleaning solutions, which provide simultaneous protection against corrosion.

LuxaPost drills must not be left in the disinfecting solution for extended periods (e.g. overnight).
